Lula Edna Fox, age 98, died Monday, September 29, 2014, at Southview Manor in Benson, Minnesota. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 3, 2014, at St. Francis Catholic Church, in Benson, with Father Jeremy Kucera officiating. Burial will be in the St. Francis Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 3rd, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements are with the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson, MN. Lula Edna Chevalier Fox was born March 4, 1916, in Swift County, Minnesota, to Eugene and Elva (Bolinger) Chevalier. She was baptized at the St. Malachy Catholic Church in Clontarf, and confirmed at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly. Lula grew up around the Clontarf area and attended District #57 and #89 in Pope County. On November 28, 1939, Lula was united in marriage to John Fox, by Father Richard King, at the St. Malachy Catholic Church in Clontarf. This union was blessed with more than 47 years of marriage, two sons, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She farmed alongside her husband, was a loving mother, and wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, and making crafts. Lula passed away Monday, September 29, 2014, at the Southview Manor in Benson, Minnesota. She had attained 98 years, 6 months, and 25 days of age. She is survived by her sons, Francis (Donna) Fox of Rush City and Richard Fox of Benson; grandchildren: Bill Fox, Sherry Fox, Allan Fox, Steve (Cathy) Evenson, and Dawn Fox; great-grandchildren: Andy Olson, Austin Fox, Emma Fox, Curtis (Melissa) Fox, Cody Fox, Ted Evenson, and Joseph P. Haas; Great-great-grandchildren: Kaia Fox, Brynn Fox, and Deklen Fox; sisters: Gladys Mattheisen of Maple Plain, Doris DeYoung of Rochester, and Judy (Bill) Ashenbach of Excelsior; sister-in-law: Donna Chevalier; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; grandson, Cameron Fox; brothers, Donald Chevalier and Roy Chevalier; sisters, Vera Mae Krattenmaker and Alice Fox; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Fox.
