Berdina Olga (Pederson) Svor, age 95, of Benson, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014, at the Golden Living Center-Meadow Lane in Benson, Minnesota. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson. Interment will be in the Benson City Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Berdina Olga (Pederson) Svor was born July 6, 1919 to Oliver David and Bertha Adela (Hoff) Pederson in Camp Lake Township, Swift County, Minnesota. She was baptized August 3, 1919 at the Swift Falls Lutheran Church and confirmed May 24, 1934, by Rev. Herman Jergenson, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Benson. She grew up on the family farm in Camp Lake Township and graduated from District #64 in Camp Lake Township. Berdina was united in marriage to Irvin Joseph Svor on August 27, 1941, at the Swift Falls Lutheran Church, with Rev. Melvin Kaatrud as the officiant. They lived in Benson and Berdina worked as a nurses aide, clerk at the Ben Franklin, and as a cook at Benson Northside Elementary School. Berdina was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church and Sons of Norway. Among the things she enjoyed were sewing, crafts, cooking, hiking and dancing. Berdina passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at the Golden Living Center-Meadow Lane in Benson, Minnesota. She had attained 95 years of age. She is survived by her children, Spencer (Gail) Svor of Plymouth, MN, and Weldon (Suzanne) Svor of Lewiston, ME; grandchildren: Brent Svor, Shannon LeBlanc, Philip Svor, Tricia Gallup, and Jonathan Svor; great-grandchildren: Paige LeBlanc, Wyatt LeBlanc, Julia Svor, Abigail Svor, Haley Gallup, Ethan LeBlanc, Brady Svor, Gillian Svor, Eden Svor, and Mason Svor; sister, Katherine (Abner) Jacobson of Glenwood; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Svor; parents, Oliver and Bertha Pederson; sisters, Doris Davidson and Mabel Loen; and brothers, David Pederson and Kertil Pederson, who died in infancy.
