Mildred "Millie" Janet Wilts was born November 3, 1932, in Montevideo, Minnesota, the daughter of Emil and Agnes (Bystrom) Christenson. She was baptized and confirmed at Jevnaker Lutheran Church, rural Montevideo. On December 16, 1950 she was united in marriage to Darwin Molden at the Big Bend parsonage. Darwin died suddenly in 1978. On September 1, 1979, she was united in marriage to Stanley Wilts. She and Stan lived and farmed in the Appleton area for nearly 35 years. Millie retired at age 79, after doing a variety of jobs which included: farming, Willmar Cookie Company, waitress, salesperson in hardware stores, and also worked for many years at a local grocery store. She loved to garden, to play cards, and to play bingo. Millie was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and Zion Ladies Aid. She was a great wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Millie was known to cater to everyone's favorite foods when they came to visit. Her greatest joy was her family. Millie especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She found great joy in attending their programs and sporting events. Millie died on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Appleton Area Health Services. She attained 81 years, 6 months, and 7 days of age. She is survived by her husband, Stanley of Appleton; children: Earl (Gloria) Molden of Appleton, Marlowe Molden of Eagan, Carol (John) Roessler of Elysian, Deb (Don) Bursken of Appleton, Robert (Tammy) Wilts of Appleton; son-in-law, Ed Hilbrand of Baudette; grandchildren Dianne (Grant) Parker, Brenda (John) Bendix, Todd (Tania) Molden, David Berning, Heidi (Bill) Schuelke, Chris (special friend, Becka) Roessler, Candice (Marty) Flicek, Amanda Molden, Sarah (special friend, Trevor) Sprague, Becky (John) Lysen, Andrew (Alli) Molden, Matthew Molden; step-grandchild, Michelle Mehlhaf; great-grandhchildren: Tyrone, Thomas, Ethan, Darrick, Kaden, Gwynneth, Espyn, Addyson, Jackson, Hunter, Grace, Anthony, Isaac, Leah, Dillion, Clara, Kaitlynn, Ella, Cambrie, Colton, Dawson, Chace; step-great-grandchildren: Troy and Cody; "sister" Arlene Ohlaug; special friends, Judy and Roger Hillenbrand; special pets: Kitty-Pooh and Maverick; other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Agnes Christenson; first husband, Darwin Molden in 1978; daughter, Peggy (Wilts) Hilbrand, grandson, Douglas; parents-in-law: Tony and Ethel Wilts, Edward and Bertha Molden.
