Marlowe Milton Tucholke was born May 12, 1922, at Revillo, South Dakota to parents William and Edna (Spiering) Tucholke. He was baptized on July 2, 1922, in Albee, South Dakota and confirmed on May 29, 1938, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Nassau. Marlowe attended school in Nassau. On October 10, 1943, he was married to Christine Stegeman at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. They farmed outside Odessa from 1948-2006. When Marlowe retired for health reasons they sold the farm and moved into Appleton. They are members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. Marlowe enjoyed country living, farming and tending to his garden. He took pride in his watermelons. He always enjoyed having horses. Marlowe had great memories of the grandkids coming out to the farm when they were little. Marlowe died on Tuesday morning, April 22nd, at Appleton Area Health Services. He had attained 91 years, 11 months, and 10 days of age. He is survived by his wife, Christine; four children: Harold Tucholke of Lakeville, Susan Blilie-Hazelton of Fridley, Joan Tucholke of Rapid City, SD, and Jane Tucholke of Willmar; five grandchildren: David (Mia) Tucholke, Dana (Scott) Nygaard, Darin (Katie) Tucholke, Jason Blilie, and Holly Hazelton; three great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Lauren Nygaard, and Lucas Tucholke; his brother, Delmont (MaryAnn) Tucholke of Madison; two sisters: Lavonne (Willis) Bremseth of Glenwood and Janet Tucholke of Rice, MN; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter-in-law, Neva Tucholke; a brother, Wilfred Tucholke; and three sisters: Elaine Schwandt, Vera Wickham, and Narvella Ness.
