Carol Jean (Bryan) Delgehausen was born on December 23, 1934, in Edison Township, Swift County, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and Hazel (Bowman) Bryan. She was baptized at the Congregational Church in Appleton and confirmed in North Minneapolis, Minnesota. Carol grew up on various farms around the Appleton area. She went to the Appleton schools and graduated from Appleton High School. Following graduation, she worked at Days Bakery in Appleton and then moved to Minneapolis and worked at the Federal Reserve Bank. Carol married Roy Delgehausen on September 4, 1955 at the Congregational Church in Appleton and they resided in Minneapolis. In 1961, Carol and Roy moved to Bloomington, MN where they raised their three children. Carol worked at the Sun Newspaper for many years. In 1979, they moved to Merrifield, MN where she worked as a house cleaner. In 1999, they retired to Milan, MN. Carol enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables, was an avid reader, Boy Scout leader, chaperone for Girl Scout events, being a member of the Grange, her card club, fishing, and watching Twins games. She also enjoyed baking and canning. During retirement, she was a Foster Grandparent in the Appleton Grade School. Throughout her life, she always had a variety of pets, with her last being her dog, Max, who was her constant companion. Carol attained the age of 79 years, 3 months, and 9 days. Carol is survived by her husband, Roy Delgehausen of Milan; children: Robin Delgehausen of Bloomington, MN, Mark (Sandy) Delgehausen of Champlin, MN, and Tammi Delgehausen of Appleton, MN; grandchildren: Sara Delgehausen of Champlin, MN, Joe (Mercy) Delgehausen of Plymouth, MN, and Luke Delgehausen of Champlin, MN; sister, RoseAnne (Russ) Hanson of Milan; brothers-in-law, Loren (Jan) Delgehausen of Baton Rouge, LA, and David (Lori) Delgehausen of Cross Lake, MN; sister-in-law, Marlys Gross of Plover, WI; nieces and nephews: Jill and Robert Blom (Hanson), Shawn Hanson, Kimberly and Wade Kittleson (Hanson), Becca and Mitch Rielly (Delgehausen) and Tim and Tamra Delgehausen; seven great-nieces and nephews; two great-great-nieces; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Hazel Bryan; brother, Richard Bryan, and niece, Tonia Bryan.
