Evelyn "Evie" M. McGee was born on January 27, 1923, in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Julius and Amelia Boutin Lageson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson. She graduated from Benson High School in 1942. Evelyn was united in marriage to Charles W. McGee, on December 28, 1944, at St. Francis Catholic Church. This union was blessed with over 65 years of marriage and two children. They farmed near Danvers. She worked at Lee's Store and Fingerhut in Benson, and for Coy's Store in Danvers. Evie was active with her family in 4H, member of the Altar and Rosary Society, taught catechism at church, and served on the Nurses Advisory Board. She enjoyed cleaning and refinishing furniture, bowling, dancing, and cooking and baking for her family especially the grandchildren. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Charlotte McGee of Danvers; daughter-in-law, Rosie McGee of Benson; four grandchildren: Rob McGee, Chad McGee, Jess McGee, Mike McGee; ten great-grandchildren: Bobi Rose, Philip, Benjamin, Jay Even, Wyatt, Preston, John, Zoey, Taylor, and Kira; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Amelia Lageson; her husband, Charles McGee in 2008; a son, Robert McGee; two brothers, Robert Lageson and Buck Lageson; and two sisters, Gladys Fennell and Mary Ann Walsh.
