Benson, Minnesota- Lois Joan Vollan, age 83, died on Sunday, March 09, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Benson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ in Benson. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Lois Joan Vollan, 83, was born on February 24, 1931, in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Louis and Vera Elliott Mattheisen. She was baptized and confirmed at the Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ in Benson. She graduated from Benson High School in 1950. On June 25, 1952, Lois was united in marriage to Stanley M. Vollan, at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ. This union was blessed with 59 years of marriage and three sons. They settled in Benson. Lois worked for Rangaard's Café, Skogmos, and at Super Valu. She enjoyed playing cards and dancing at Lakeside Ballroom. She enjoyed visiting with friends and loved to spend time with her family. Lois was called from this life on March 9, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Benson. Lois is survived by her three sons: David (Shari) Vollan of Benson, Danny (Tammy) Vollan of Moody, Texas, and Donald Vollan of Benson; grandchildren: Brianna Jensen of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Sam Vollan of Benson, Fallon (Seth) Broach of Cypress, Texas, Shawn Vollan of Austin, Texas, Max Vollan of Moody, Texas; step- grandchildren: Scott, Matt, Ashley, and Brett Wrobleski, all of Benson; three great- grandchildren: Ayden, Jordyn, and Braycen; step-great-grandchild, Brennan; siblings: Jane Swanson of Whitehouse, Texas, Bobby Mattheisen of Scandia, and Helen (Paul) Mortenson of Benson. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley in 2011; her parents Louis and Vera; and siblings Carol Sebasko, Clarence Mattheisen and Earle Mattheisen.
