Jeanette Malinda Cronen was born on September 14, 1918, in Pope County, to parents Erick and Marie (Grondahl) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus. Jeanette was raised in the Cyrus area, graduating from Cyrus High School. On November 23, 1943 Jeanette was united in marriage to Carl Ohmacht at the Trinity Lutheran Church Parsonage in Cyrus. This union was blessed with a son, Carlton. In 1976, Jeanette married Vernon Cronen at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson. Throughout her life Jeanette was active with Sons of Norway, VFW Women's Auxiliary, Senior Citizens Club in Danvers, and Our Redeemer's Women's Circle. She enjoyed to travel and spent many years wintering Arizona. Jeanette loved music, especially playing piano and accordion. Jeanette died on February 11, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Benson. She had attained 95 years, 4 months, and 27 days of age. She is survived by her son, Carlton (Artis) Ohmacht of Glenwood; grandchildren: Lynette (Kurt) Stende of Rogers, Kristine (Rod) Staton of Benson, Lance (Julie) Ohmacht of Danvers; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ohmacht; second husband, Vernon Cronen; grandson, Miles Staton; parents, Erick and Marie Johnson; three brothers: Julius, Elmer, and Tohrolf Johnson; and one sister, Helena Hawkinson.
