Arden Harold Pearson was born in Swede Prairie Township of Yellow Medicine County on May 17, 1923, to Harold and Alice (Johnson) Pearson. He was baptized and confirmed at Swede Home Lutheran Church, rural Clarkfield, MN. Arden attended rural School District 90 and graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1942. On June 22, 1944 he entered the Army at Fort Snelling, MN. Arden served in the Philippine Islands until May 1, 1946 when he was discharged. Arden farmed in the Minneota area until 1952. On April 17, 1952 he was united in marriage to Iola Mae Running at Milan, MN. This union was blessed with two sons: Doug and Dean. Arden and Iola farmed in the Svea area until 1966. He then went to work for the United States Postal Service until 1986, when back problems forced him to retire. Arden was called home to the Lord on December 4, 2013. He had attained 90 years, 6 months, and 18 days of age. He is survived by his wife, Iola of Milan; sons: Doug Pearson of Champlin and Dean (Barb) Pearson of Ottertail; granddaughters: Mary, Angelina, Betsy, Julia and Molly Pearson; siblings: Merle Pearson of Clarkfield, Joyce (Lewellyn) Vold of Clarkfield; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Arden is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Alice Pearson; and brother, Gail.
