Funeral services for Alice L. Reese will be held at Abundant Life Church in East Rockingham, North Carolina, with officiants Pastor Joe Wilkes and Wayne Corder. Organist is Tami Bailey, and soloists are Tina Gillist and Little Joe Wilkes singing "Look What I've Traded for my Mansion." Congregational hymn is "Amazing Grace." Casketbeareres are: Jim Williams, John Reese, Billy Geiser, Rich Geiser, Stanley Sawyer Jr. and Eddie Reese. Alice will be laid to rest beside her husband at Richmond Memorial Park. Alice Laura Lindler was born September 28, 1924, in Lexington, South Carolina, to parents John and Carrie (Corley) Lindler. She married James Arthur Reese in 1944. From this union they were blessed with six children. Alice worked most of her life and retired from Aleo Mills in 1979. She and James were faithful members of Abundant Life Church Church for many years. She was considered a mother of the church even after moving to Appleton in 2003. She was a praying woman who loved reading her Bible and doing word search books. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and cards, and fellowshiping with the people that lived in her apartment building. Alice died Monday, October 28, at Appleton Area Health Services. She had reached 89 years and one month old. She is survived by her daughters: Faye Sessons of Rockingham, Kaye Sawyer of Lexington, South Carolina, and Dianne (and Rich) Geiser of Appleton; sons: Jimmy (and Debbie) of Asheboro, North Carolina, Billy (and Raina) of Cordova, and John (and Debbie) of Rockingham, North Carolina; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and her sister Louise Neal of Wallace, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband James on November 5, 2000; her parents; brothers, William Lindler, Sydney Lindler and Jim Corder; sisters, Fannie Mae Reese of Columbia, South Carolina, Kitty Bullock of Rockingham, Betty Todd of Cheraw, Inez Dolley; and sons-in-law, Stanley Sawyer of Lexington, South Carolina and Jimmy Hallman of Columbia, South Carolina.
