Lois Elaine LaGrange was born on February 21, 1930, in Waubay, South Dakota, the daughter of Rev. Edward Severin and Esther Clara Geneva Lund Vik. She grew up in Waubay and graduated from Waubay High School. She completed surgical technician training at Fairview Riverside Hospital. She worked as a surgical assistant at Fairview Riverside Hospital in Minneapolis and at the Appleton Municipal Hospital. On June 23, 1962, Lois was united in marriage to Derall Calvin LaGrange at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Waubay, by Rev. Edward Vik. This union was blessed with two children and over 51 years of marriage. They made their home in Appleton and Lois worked as a housewife and mother. Lois was called from this life on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at the Westwind Village in Morris. Lois was a member of the Birthday Club, homemakers, the Appleton Music Club, the Zion Lutheran Church Choir and Ladies Aide. She enjoyed music, attending plays and musicals, and loved to read. She treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed entertaining guests. She is survived by her husband Derall LaGrange of Morris; her children Paul (Charlene) LaGrange of Champlin and Rachel (Jeffery) Koschmeder of Champlin; two grandchildren, Andrew and William LaGrange; a sister Phyllis (Vik) Swanson of Northfield, and a brother Phillip (Lavonne) Vik of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Esther, and a brother David Vik.
