Lois Helen Murray was born on February 4, 1930 in Bellingham, Minnesota, the daughter of August and Linda Kunde. She was baptized and confirmed at the St. Peter Lutheran Church and she grew up and graduated from high school in Bellingham. On May 22, 1953, Lois was united in marriage with James Willard Murray by Rev. E. Willie at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Bellingham.This union was blessed with more than sixty years of marriage, one child, and two grandchildren. Jim and Lois moved to Benson and she worked at the Benson Veterinary Clinic for 37 years. Lois was active with the Trinity Altar Guild and taught children's Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed bridge, fishing, camping, and dogs, with her favorite pet being Annie, a Golden Retriever. Lois was called from this life on Monday, September 9, 2013, at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria. She attained 83 years, 7 months, and 5 days of age. Lois is survived by her husband, Jim; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Teri Murray of Grand Forks, ND; granddaughters, LeAnna Coetzee and Alexandra Baker-Murray; brother, Roger Kunde of Bellingham, MN; sister, Anne Marrie Durjun of Portland, OR; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
