Gregory Dean Walsh, 59, of Murdock, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Parish Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson. Gregory Dean Walsh was born on April 14, 1954 in Benson, Minnesota to Henry Michael and Albie Ann (Payne) Walsh. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson. Greg grew up in Benson on the family farm and graduated from Benson High School and Willmar Technical College. He was self-employed over the years doing drafting, fabricating, sandblasting, excavating, drainage tiling and farming in Murdock and the surrounding area. On May 11, 1974, he was married to Kathryn Marie (Smith) Walsh and later divorced. This union was blessed with four daughters he dearly loved. Greg was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Land Improvement Contractors of America (LICA), Pheasants Forever, and Farm Bureau. He enjoyed working, completing handyman projects, fishing, swimming, skiing, collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia and visiting with friends and family. Greg was a wonderful storyteller and listener. He also loved helping his girls. Greg is survived by his parents, Henry and Albie Walsh, four daughters: Kristine (Alex) Gredzens of Corcoran, Stacy (Jim) Thomas of Minneapolis, Becky (Pete) Ross of St. Cloud, and Renae Walsh (fiancé Craig Kern) of St. Joseph; seven grandchildren: Jordan Miles, Grace Gredzens, Zander Gredzens, Finn Thomas, Korri Thomas, Austin Kunz, and Ben Ross; and six siblings: Vicky Nelson of Willmar, Tim (Cindy) Walsh of Glenwood, Bob (Mary) Walsh of Dawson, Tony (Vickie) Walsh of Hudson WI, Lisa (Eric) Peterson of Benson, and Dan Walsh of Rochester. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
