Phillip D. Pederson

Phillip Donald Pederson was born on January 02, 1932, the son of Peder and Dena Marie (Amundson) Pederson. He was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran faith by Pastor Beito and confirmed in 1946 by Pastor Rohne at Rolling Forks Lutheran Church in Swift Falls. Phillip was born and raised on the family farm in Gilchrist Township in Pope County. On September 17, 1966, he was united in marriage to Joyce Elaine Scott at Fairview Covenant Church in Mound. This union was blessed with four children and 43 years of marriage. Phillip was a farmer and then worked for 20 years at Earl B. Olson Turkey Farms and Benson Ready Mix. He enjoyed horses and watching the Twins play baseball. Phillip died on Monday, May 13, 2013, at the Willmar Care Center. He had attained 81 years, 4 months, and 11 days of age. Phillip is survived by his children: Donald (Lisa) Pederson of Haltom City, TX, Dean Pederson of Burnsville, MN, and Daphne (Daryl) Meyer of Apple Valley, MN; grandchildren: AnDrew (Jannessa) Pederson, Kaytlin (Peter) Westerberg, Devon Pederson, Cody Pederson, Hope-Anne Pederson, Trinity Pederson, Samuel Pederson, Austin Meyer, and Alexis Meyer; great-grandchild: Faith Pederson, Freya Pederson, and Liam Westerberg; brother, Palmer (Eleanor) Pederson of Benson; and sister, Delaine Lene of Benson. Phillip is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; son, Scott Pederson; parents, Peder and Dena Pederson; and brothers, Raymond Pederson and Richard Pederson.
