Marvin Edward Zurn was born in Grace Township, Chippewa County, Minnesota to Effie Mae (Payne) and John William Zurn on January 24, 1923. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Bridget's Catholic Church and attended school in Grace Township. He grew up and lived his entire life in Grace Township, Chippewa County. Marvin farmed all his life on the family farm in Grace Township. He served on the ASCS Office Board, as a Supervisor for Grace Township, on St. Bridget's Financial Board, as a Church Deacon, and on the Hillside Cemetery Board in Grace Township. Marvin received the Bishop's Medal for Service for his many years of active membership with the Church of St. Bridget's. He enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables. Marvin is survived by one niece, Darla Hettver of Shoreview, MN; three nephews: Lyle (Karen) Hettver of Alberta, MN, Floyd (Beverly) Hettver of DeGraff, MN, and Duane (Cheryl) Hettver of Bloomington, MN; three great-nieces, Nikki (Carl) Vogt, Kaycia Hettver, and Amanda (Bryan) Schafer; six great-nephews: Michael (Breana) Hettver, Keaton Hettver, Kirby (Amanda) Hettver, Kerry (Becky) Hettver, Chris (Ashley) Hettver, and Eric Hettver; five great-great-nieces: Katelyn Vogt, Kyra Vogt, Amelia Hettver, Hazelee Hettver, and Alana Edwardson; four great-great-nephews: Hunter Vogt, Isaac Hettver, Gavin Hettver, and Shane Pehrson. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Effie Zurn; one brother, Floyd Zurn; and one sister, Irene Hettver.
