Robert Curtis Lachmiller

July 17, 1927 — March 3, 2013

Robert "Bob" Curtis Lachmiller was born in Good Thunder, MN to Lila (Kaul) and Frederick Lachmiller on July 17, 1927. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church and grew up in Good Thunder attending Sterling Public School. Bob served in the Korean War from 1950 - 1952 as a private first class and radio operator in the US Army. Bob managed the "Friendly Tavern" in Good Thunder before moving to Benson in 1961 where he bartended at the Clontarf Liquor Store, the Clontarf Club, Benson Municipal Liquor Store, and managed the VFW Post 1403. He also farmed by Clontarf and worked for other farmers in the area. Bob enjoyed hunting and farming. He was a member of the Benson VFW Post 1403 and the AA Club in Benson. Bob is survived by his son, Bruce (Geri) Lachmiller of Clontarf; sisters-in-law: Louise Lachmiller of Benson and Dawn Lachmiller of Park Rapids; nieces and nephews: Daniel, Danette, and Daneen; and many cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Keith Lachmiller and David Lachmiller.
