Ernest Henneberg Jr.

Ernest Henneberg Jr. was born August 6, 1927 in Lac qui Parle County, MN, the son of Ernest and Elsie (Zempel) Henneberg. He was called from this life by the Lord, on Thursday morning, February 28, 2013 at Appleton Area Health Services. He was 85 years old. Ernest Jr. was baptized on August 19, 1928 in Bellingham, MN. He was confirmed by Rev. G.B. Odegaard at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton, MN, on April 7, 1963. Ernest grew up on a farm near Odessa, MN. He was in the Armed Services from 1949 through 1952. On November 20, 1954 Ernest was united in marriage to Alice Marie Miller at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton, MN. To this union two children were born: June Marie and David Ernest. They shared 58 years of marriage together. Ernest was a grain and livestock farmer for many years. In 1979 he retired from farming, and spent his retirement years enjoying fishing, bowling, dancing, traveling and playing cards. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ernest is survived by his wife, Alice; his children: June (Richard) Schott and David (Debbie)Henneberg; four grandchildren: Brian and Ericka Schott , Chad and Kayla Henneberg; sister, Jean (Chester) Dezotell and brother, Kenneth Henneberg; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Elsie Henneberg; brothers: Lloyd (Ella) Henneberg, Glen (Barbara) Henneberg, Marvin Henneberg, Gordon Henneberg; and sister, Doris (Willard) Emde.
