June E. Palm, 92, of Murdock, MN passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Hospice of Boulder and Broomfield County in Louisville, Colorado. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Murdock on Friday, March 1, 2013 with Reverend Amy Juel Palmer officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Alexandria, MN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson. June Elizabeth Keller was born on February 29, 1920 in Hatton, ND, the daughter of Joe and Mayme Bye. She was called from this life on Monday morning, February 19th. She had attained the age of 92 years and was just 2 weeks shy of her 93rd birthday. June grew up in Northwood, ND and graduated from Northwood High School in 1937. On June 29, 1946 June was united in marriage to James Palm at the Evangelical Lutheran in Northwood. They had one daughter, Julie and shared 42 years of marriage. June and Jim lived in Murdock from 1954 and June remained there until 2 years ago when she moved to Longmont, CO to be near Julie. June worked in the school system as a teacher until her retirement in 1984. She embraced the community, making lifelong friends and relationships. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Murdock where she attended the Women's Bible Study and Circle. June loved sports, remaining an avid Twins and Vikings fan, and attending her great niece and nephew's sporting events in Longmont. June thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her friends, old and new, sharing activities from coffee at the station to Wii bowling. Her teaching career was very fulfilling to her and she still corresponded with many of her students and colleagues right up until this past Christmas. Her advice was "Always do the best you can. Never lie or cheat. Be kind and helpful." She was a wonderful lady, a special friend, a loving aunt, a devoted wife, and the best mom ever. June is survived by her daughter, Julie, of Longmont, CO, her three very special nieces, Pam (Jim) Sola of Eagle, ID, Marcia (Steve) Herman of Bismarck, ND, and Paula (Glenn) Wager of Longmont, CO, six great nephews and one great niece, and 1 grand dog, Cole. Preceding her in death were her husband, Jim, in 1987, her parents, Joe and Mayme, her sister, Mae, her brother-in-law, Paul, and her grand dog, Charlie. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to Compassionate Care in Willmar or Hospice of Boulder and Broomfield Counties.
