Jean Marie Motzko, age 70, of Benson, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at the Southview Manor in Benson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013, at St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Clontarf. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson with a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson. www.zniewskifuneralhome.com Jean Marie Motzko, age 70, died on Monday, January 8, 2013 at Southview Manor in Benson, MN. She was born on March 12, 1942 on the Charlie Miller Farm, near Clontarf, to Leonard and Florence (Johnson) Mills. She was the oldest of three children (having been born after three children died in infancy). Jean attended school in Clontarf, until the 8th grade, where she was active in 4-H with the Clontarf Haymakers. After graduating from Benson High School in 1960, she waitressed at Dick's Café, and worked as a clerk respectively for Marv Mauch and Dale Dahl at the super Valu Store for 20 years. On October 23, 1981, Jean married Jerome Motzko in Copenhagen, Denmark. They had no children, but Jean suffered two miscarriages, in Panama (1985) and Texas (1987). Jean accompanied Jerome on various assignments at several military installations throughout the world until Jerome retired from the Army in February of 1992 at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. They remained in the San Antonio Area where Jerome finished college for his Bachelor's Degree and worked government jobs until he retired in 2002, when they moved back to Benson. Jean enjoyed cooking, canning, crocheting, knitting, working at consignment shops, and helping out any other people in need. She is survived by her husband, Jerome of Benson; a brother, Leonard Jr. (Pat) Mills of Benson; a sister, Jane (Loran) Knack of Nisswa; three nieces; one nephew; four sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by her Father, in January 1971; her mother, in October 1993; her three older siblings; four brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.
