Bertha G. Robertson, 100, of Appleton, died Tuesday, January 8th at Appleton Area Health Services. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12th at 11:00Am, at Word Fellowship Church in Appleton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the Church on Saturday. Interment will immediately follow at the Appleton City Cemetery. Bertha Gertrude Robertson was born in Warwick, ND on May 19, 1912, to parents Charles and Mary Louise (Johnston) Durheim. Bertha attended Washington Lake School through grade 8. On January 15, 1951 Bertha was married to Charles John Robertson in Watertown, SD. During her working years, Bertha farmed in Minnesota and North Dakota. She enjoyed working with her hands, especially in her garden. Bertha also enjoyed quilting, crocheting and knitting. Berta was blessed with a large family that she took great pride in and that she loved to care for. She found great joy in caring for her many grandchildren. Some of Bertha's most fond memories are of the good times she had with family and friends while spending time at the farm on Sunday's. Bertha also enjoyed staying at the cabin on Lake Scandia were she enjoyed fishing and pontoon rides. She was a past member of the United Methodist Church in Correll, where she was active with the Women's Aid Group. Bertha loved the Lord and she left this message for her family and friends: "To come to the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior and know him." Bertha is survived by her children: Gary (Sally) Pollock of Tacoma, WA, Greg (Gila) Robertson of Appleton, David (Ursula) Robertson of Richmond, MN, Peggy (Don) Aeikens of Minneapolis, MN and Diane Nelson of Madison, MN; sister, Geraldine Cartwright of Montevideo, MN; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Bertha is preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 1978; her parents, Charles and Mary Louise Durheim; daughters: Mary Pollock and Carmen Weber; son-in-law, Kenneth Nelson; grandson, Mike Nelson; and 16 siblings.
