Mary Teresa Clarke was born on July 24, 1921, in Dublin Township, Minnesota, the daughter of William Aloysius and Ellen Honorah (Murphy) Cain. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. She grew up in Dublin Township and attended Murdock Public School. On March 8, 1943, Mary Teresa was united in marriage to Jack Clarke at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock by Father Walsh. This union was blessed with eleven children, eleven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Mary Teresa was a member of the Sacred Heart Mission Group and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, Jeopardy, quilting, reading and sewing. She was called from this life on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at the Sterling House Care Center in Willmar, MN. She attained the age of 91 years, 4 months and 7 days. She is survived by her children: Marie (Don) Smith of Bloomington, Louise Clarke of Minneapolis, Carol Clarke of Minneapolis, Susan (Joe) Jost of Donnelly, Dan (Diane) Clarke of Willmar, Patricia (Joel Schwartz) Clarke of Minneapolis, Richard (Joan) Clarke of Montevideo, Teresa (Peter Kennedy) Clarke of Murdock, and Kathleen Clarke of Minneapolis; grandchildren: Erin (Tom) Zimmer, Matt (Dana) Smith, Sarah (Jeremy) Jost-Sutton, Ellen Jost, Sean Jost, Aileen Clarke, Katherine Clarke, Kieran Schwartz, Caitlin Clarke, Isabel Kennedy, and Salena Tumini; great-grandchildren: Joseph, Patrick and Laura Zimmer, and Ben and Lauren Smith; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mary Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; a daughter and son in infancy; six brothers; and two sisters.
