Beverly Marie Nordby was born September 15, 1948 in Appleton, Minnesota, the daughter of Melvin Norman and Amanda (Fredrick) Hanson. She was confirmed at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls. Beverly grew up and attended school in Ortonville, Montevideo, Holloway and Benson, graduating from Benson High School. On February 19, 1966, Beverly was united in marriage to Jesse Allen Nordby, Sr. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls. They were blessed with three children and 44 years of marriage. The couple lived northeast of Benson. Beverly worked at Future Products and Sprucewood Home. Among the things she enjoyed in her spare time were flower gardening, bird watching, walking, traveling, and photography. She enjoyed collecting owls and wildlife figurines. Beverly was called from this life on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Benson. She attained the age of 61 years, 11 months and 4 days. Beverly is survived by her husband Jesse, Sr. of Benson; her children: Jesse Jr. (Jeandrea) Nordby of Benson, Jeff Nordby of Benson and Janil (Roger) Mondor of Benson; seven grandchildren: Datriana, Jesse III, Trevaughn, Xanarei, Bo, Kristy and Hunter; her siblings: Diane Ronholdt of Benson, Janet (Donald) Wrobleski of Benson, Sharon (John) Grunst of Pierz, and David (Colleen) Hanson of Spearfish, SD; a brother-in-law Lyle Waters, Sr. of Langdon, ND; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, her sister Elaine Waters, and a nephew, Lyle Waters, Jr.
