Mark E. Steffen

September 11, 1952 — June 13, 2010

Mark E. Steffen was born September 11, 1952 in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Kenneth Cecil and Lenore Alvinia (DuHoux) Steffen. He was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Raymond. He grew up in Raymond and graduated from Raymond High School with the Class of 1970. He went on to attend Willmar Jr. College for two years. Mark lived and worked in Dallas, Texas from 1977 - 1993. He moved to Benson and worked for Loral Products until 2000. On October 17, 1998, Mark was united in marriage to Cindy L. Wagner at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson by Pastor Barbara Thompson. The couple was blessed with 11 years of marriage. Among the things Mark enjoyed were golfing, bowling, caring for animals and especially the company of family, friends, and his cats, Abbie and Trouble. Mark was called from this life on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. He attained the age of 57 years, 9 months and 2 days. Mark is survived by his wife Cindy of Benson; his step-daughter, Amy (Tim) Ackman of Montevideo; three grandchildren: Erin, Michael, and Elyn Ackman, all of Montevideo; a brother Merle Steffen of Benson; and other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Kenneth and Lenore; and a sister-in-law, Heather Steffen.
