Philip John Borstad was born at Appleton on May 6, 1953, to parents Gaylen and MaryAnn (Leaf) Borstad. He was baptized on May 31, 1953 and confirmed on October 13, 1968, both at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Philip attended Appleton High School.September 24, 1983, he was married to Pamela Ann Lindstrom at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. Philip drove bus for Appleton Public Schools and the Lac Qui Parle School District for several years and was also the owner of Appleton Video for over 18 years. He enjoyed the students on his various bus routes over the years and visiting with his customers at the video store. He was also part owner of B & H Guns.He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Appleton Sportsmen's Club. Philip enjoyed motorcycling, hunting, collecting guns, spear-fishing and watching football. He was a loving, kind, and a gentle man. He was a true and loyal friend and was hard working. Philip was a very patient person and a true care-giver to many people.Philip died on Saturday, August 18th, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls as the result of a motorcycle accident. He had attained 59 years, 3 months, and 12 days of age.He is survived by his wife, Pam, of Appleton; father, Gaylen Borstad, of Appleton; brother, Gary (Monica) Borstad of Appleton, sister, Marcy (Dave) Basten of Grantsburg, WI; his mother-in-law, Renetta Lindstrom, of Appleton; brother-in-law, Jerry (JoAnn) Lindstrom of Brooten; four nephews: Michael (Tammie) Borstad of Appleton, Ryan (April) Borstad of Appleton, Jacob Irgens of Cambridge, and Eric (Kristin) Lindstrom of Bismarck, ND; three nieces: McKenzie (Brandon) Dahl of Frederic, WI, Jennifer (Tim) Heggestuen of Detroit Lakes, and Amanda (Nick) Wood of Moorhead; seven great-nieces; five great-nephews; three aunts and several other relatives.He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann; paternal grandparents Oscar and Mabel Borstad, maternal grandparents Herbert and Anna Leaf; father-in-law, Norton Lindstrom; and great-nephew Porter Dahl.
