Karen Marie Corle was born on January 16, 1958 in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Leon and Bernice (Payne) Fernholz. She grew up in rural DeGraff and graduated from Murdock High School in 1976. She then attended Ridgewater College for medical secretary training. In 1978, Karen was united in marriage to Loren J. Corle in Watertown, South Dakota. This union was blessed with three children and two grandchildren. For the past twenty years, Karen has lived and worked in St. Cloud. Karen was unexpectedly called from this life on July 15, 2012 at her home. She attained the age of 54 years and 5 months and 29 days. She is survived by her son, Travis Corle of Atwater; daughters, Denina Kaunonen of Houghton, MI and Becky Corle of Atwater; grandchildren, Sofia Kaunonen and Niilo Kaunonen; brothers, Guy (Pat) Fernholz of DeGraff, Bradley Fernholz (Barb Queenan) of Kerkhoven, and T.J. (Jody) Fernholz of Pennock; sisters, MaryLou (Allen) Schlagel of DeGraff, Darla (Steve) Quimby of Atwater, and Patty (Jim) Fullerton of Lake George; her fiancée, Eric Anderson of St. Cloud; lifelong friend, Terry Vasquez of Big Bear, CA; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Bernice Fernholz; her grandparents; and her brother, Greg Fernholz.
