George Phillip Rheingans, 84, died Sunday July 15th, 2012 at his home in Appleton, MN. George Phillip Rheingans was born on December 4th, 1927 in Appleton, Minnesota, the son of George and Esther (Harvold) Rheingans. He grew up on the rural Appleton family farm and attended country school. George later graduated from Appleton High School in 1944. On October 16th, 1948, George was united in marriage to Janette Bonk by Father Szymanski at The Church of St. Joseph in Holloway, MN. They spent 63 wonderful years together in marriage. This union was blessed with two children: Rebecca and Robert of Appleton; two grandchildren: Jordan Rheingans of St. Michael and Kyle Rheingans of Appleton; and great-granddaughter, Addison Rheingans of Appleton. George worked for Minnesota Valley Breeder's Association for 28 years and was later a rural mail carrier for the US Postal service for 27 years. He also spent many hours working on the family farm northwest of Appleton. He is survived by his wife: Janette of Appleton; his children: Rebecca Rheingans of Appleton and Robert (LuAnn) Rheingans of Appleton; grandchildren: Jordan Rheingans and Kyle Rheingans; great-grandchild Addison Rheingans; and special family friend, Leora Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents: George Sr. and Esther and siblings: the infant Rheingans twins.
