Mabel M. Schlueter

January 8, 1917 — December 19, 2009

Mabel Marie Schlueter was born January 8, 1917 to parents Anton and Ida (Schultz) Weber. She was baptized and confirmed at the Church of Visitation in Danvers, Minnesota. She grew up in the Danvers and Clontarf areas. On January 4, 1936, Mabel was united in marriage to Otto Schlueter at the Parish House in Clontarf, Minnesota by Fr. Thomas King. Together they were able to share in 51 years of marriage. This union was blessed with five children. They lived in Benson and raised their family there. Mabel was a homemaker and enjoyed dancing the night away in her spike heels, sewing, embroidery, holiday decorating, shopping, yearly vacations and family get-togethers. In 2003, Mabel moved into Park View Manor in Benson and recently had moved to the Good Samaritan-Lakeview Nursing home in Glenwood. Mabel was called from this life on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the Good Samaritan-Lakeview. She attained the age of 92 years. She was survived by her five children: Darlene Schwintek of Clear Lake, Roger Schlueter of Benson, Gary Schlueter of Montevideo, Terry (Janet) Schlueter of Sliver Lake and Janelle (Keith) Skarsten of Benson; ten grandchildren: Jodi Schwarzkopf, Carla Kuklock, Lee Schwintek Jr., Kyle Schwintek, Chad Schwintek, Robyn Schlueter, Nick Schlueter, Bryant Skarsten, Kaely Skarsten and Janae Skarsten; twelve great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Ida (Schultz) Weber; husband, Otto Schlueter and twelve brothers and sisters.
