Dennis Allen Cronen was born March 22, 1949, in Montevideo, Minnesota, the son of Lloyd and Blanche (Otterholt) Cronen. He was baptized at Jevnaker Lutheran Church of rural Montevideo. He grew up in rural Montevideo and graduated from Benson high school in 1967. Dennis served in the National Guard from 1967 to 1973. He became a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson, MN in 1984. On July 17, 1971, Dennis was united in marriage to Connie Mattheisen at St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson, MN by Father Gorman. They were blessed with four children and were able to share in 38 years of marriage. They settled on a farm in Grace Township. Dennis farmed his entire life. He served as the clerk of Grace Township for thirty five years. Dennis enjoyed long drives, sightseeing, four-wheeling, and listening to music. Dennis loved checking crops with his grandson Patrick and spending time with family and friends. Dennis was called from this life on Thursday, November 5, 2009. He attained the age of 60 years, 7 months, and 17 days. Dennis is survived by his wife Connie of Montevideo; daughters: Mary (Aaron) Sanders of Montevideo, Sarah Cronen of Edina, and Rachel (Adam) Skare of Eden Prairie; two grandchildren: Patrick Sanders and Anna Sanders; his mother, Blanche Cronen of Benson; brothers: Bill (Sharon) Cronen of Benson and Jerry (Betty) Cronen of Montevideo; and other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his daughter Anne Cronen and his father Lloyd Cronen.
