Donna Mae Boraas was born on August 23, 1937, at Clarkfield to Leonard and Hulda (Zietlow) Loose. She was baptized on September 12, 1937, and confirmed on May 20, 1951, at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Boyd. Donna graduated from Clarkfield High School. After high school Donna worked as a nurse's aid at the Montevideo Hospital.On October 3, 1959, she was married to James R. Boraas at Clarkfield. After their marriage Donna worked as a nurse's aid at the Appleton Municipal Hospital from 1966 through 1997. For 31 years she worked three different shifts at the hospital.Donna enjoyed spending time with family, grandchildren, and friends. She also enjoyed sewing, collecting cook books, reading, cooking, farming, and taking care of animals. She was a member of the Cancer Society, Sewing Club, Hospital Auxiliary, and Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a big supporter of the Minnesota Army National Guard and received the distinctive St. Katherine Award and In the Artillery Order of Molly Pitcher award.Donna died on Saturday morning, April 18th, at Appleton Area Health Services. She had attained 71 years, 7 months, and 25 days of age.She is survived by her husband, James Boraas, of Appleton; four children: Steven Boraas of Appleton, Bradley (Teresa) Boraas of Sherrard, IL, Jayson (Lynn) Boraas of Glencoe, and Jaclyn (Lee) Stock of Little Falls; eight grandchildren: Sarah, Jacob, and Lucas Boraas; Kayla and Kalley Stock; and Aaron, Krista, and Isaac Boraas; three brothers: Vernon (Beverly) Loose of Montevideo, Donald Loose of Clarkfield, and Dennis (Diane) Loose of Montevideo; sister-in-law, Beverly Loose, of Clarkfield; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arlen Loose; parents-in-law, Mentor and Lillian Boraas; and brother-in-law, Leslie Boraas.
