Muriel I. Goulson

November 3, 1928 — March 13, 2009

Muriel I. Goulson, was born on November 3, 1928 in Benson, Minnesota, the daughter of Ole and Merle Tollefson. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviour's Lutheran church in Benson by the Rev. Andrews. She attended District #59 country school. She married Arnold Goulson on November 1, 1947 by Pastor Nashiem at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Benson. Together they were able to share in 56 years of marriage. This union was blessed with two daughters. Muriel worked at the Benson café and Paris Hotel, and owned the L & M café in Benson. They then moved to Willmar where she worked at care taking at the Divine House. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading, doing fill in puzzles, watching game shows, and taking care of pets. Muriel was called from this life on Friday, March 13, 2009, at Seasons in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. She attained the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 10 days. She is survived by her two daughters Mary Ann (Tom) Sullivan of Morton, MN, and Kathy Lynne (Gary) Clark, of Murdock, MN; six grandchildren, Jennifer Kurth, Jim Sullivan, Jason Clark, Alicia Clark, Katie Clark, and Jeremy Sullivan; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Kurth, Brandon Sullivan, Alexa Kurth, McKenzie Kurth, and Gary Kennedy; a sister Lorene Sulier of Willmar, MN; and a brother Ollie (Jean) Tollefson, of Fair Oaks, California. She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold in 2003, her parents Ole and Merle, and two brothers Wilbur and Arnold Tollefson.
