Wilfred Keith Tucholke was born February 24th, 1928, at Nassau to William F. and Edna (Spiering) Tucholke. He was baptized on March 18, 1928, at Grace Lutheran Church in Albee, SD, and confirmed on November 7, 1945, at Grace Lutheran Church in Correll.From November of 1950 until August of 1952 he served with the US Army in the 7th Infantry Division in Korea. On August 14, 1954, he was married to JoAnn L. Ahrndt at the Danvers Lutheran Church. They farmed in the Correll area from 1954-1957 and then moved to Benson where they farmed. In 1963 they moved back to Correll where they farmed until their retirement. In June of 2010 they moved into Appleton.Wilfred enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting with his family, and operating heavy equipment. He was a member of VFW Post No. 4955, the Odessa Rod & Gun Club, Odessa Elevator Board, Big Stone County Pollution Control Board, the Correll School Board, and also served as Mayor of Correll.Wilfred died on Tuesday afternoon, November 9th, at the Clara City Care Center. He had attained 82 years, eight months, and 15 days of age.He is survived by his wife, JoAnn, of Appleton; three daughters: Linda Tucholke of Willmar, Rita (Dick) Lambert of Morris, and Betty (Ron) Lindblom of Maynard; six grandchildren: Michael (Tricia) Rupp, Monica (Jason) Miller, Jesse (Julie) Arnold, Bobbi Jo Arnold, Brenda Lindblom, and Ronald Lindblom; five great-grandchildren: Barrett and Marcus Rupp, Colby Miller, and Chaeli and Keagan Zahl; two brothers: Marlowe (Christine) Tucholke of Appleton, and Delmont (Mary Ann) Tucholke of Madison; two sisters: Lavonne (Willis) Bremseth of Glenwood, and Janet Tucholke of St. Cloud; brother-in-law, Bruno Schwandt, of Appleton; nieces, nephews; and other relatives.He is preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters: Elaine Schwandt, Vera Wickham, and Narvelle Ness.
