Jane Connole Catherine Cashel Nemmers was born on August 02, 1937 in Worthington, Minnesota, the daughter of John "Jack" and Ruth Gertz Cashel. She was baptized at St.Mary's Catholic Church on September 26, 1937, by Father Hilary R. Brixius. She grew up living in the Historic Dayton House in Worthington. She attended Worthington schools and Our Lady of Good Counsel Academy High School in Mankato, Minnesota, where she was in Glee Club, played the violin in the orchestra and served as the editor for The Echo, the high school's newspaper. She attended college at St. Catherine's in St. Paul. On June 08, 1957, Jane was united in marriage to Duane Edward Nemmers in Worthington by Father Hale. Together they were able to share in 55 years of marriage. This union was blessed with seven children, 24 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. They moved to Sleepy Eye in 1961 and then made Benson their home in 1969. She served as a den mother for the boy scouts, the Mrs. Jaycees, and was active in MCCL for 20 years. Jane loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, baking, playing the piano, dancing, singing, and writing. She was called from this life on July 02, 2012 at Homestead Place North in Benson. She attained the age of 74 years and 11 months. She is survived by her husband Duane of Benson; her children, Laura (Ben) Anderson of Elk River, Kenneth (Chris) Nemmers of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Ann (Keith) Johnson of New Prague, Karen Hagstrom of Elk River, Nancy (Glen) Haviland of Long Island, New York, Michael (Jill) Nemmers of Glenwood, and Katie Cashel of St. Paul; twenty four grandchildren, Amos (Meredith), Jesse, Peter, and Angela Anderson; Adam, Dominic, Rachel (Fernando), and Ethan Nemmers, Geoffrey, Jenna, Maria, and Anna Johnson, Neil, and Carolina Hagstrom, Brandon, Maggie, Brittany, Jonathan, Abigail Haviland, Amanda, Alexander, Nicholas, and Natasha Nemmers, and Emily Cashel; four great grandchildren, Isaiah and Seth Anderson, Mia Riviera, and Naomi McKinley; two brothers Robert (Marion) Cashel of Worthington and James Weyker of Minneapolis; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Ruth, two sisters Mary Osen and Janet Cashel, and two brothers Nicholas Weyker and Vincent Cashel.
