Deborah Kay Hilleren (Thielke) was born on May 17, 1953, in Appleton, MN, the daughter of Willard W. and Ethel Lehne Thielke. She was baptized at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in rural Appleton. She attended school in Appleton until 1969, when they moved to Benson. Debbie graduated from Benson High School in 1971 and from St. Cloud State University, summa cum laude with a degree in Business. Debbie married Daniel Hilleren on September 24, 1973 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. This union was blessed with two children, Jennifer and Sarah. Together they were able to share in thirty nine years of marriage. Dan and Debbie lived in Sauk Rapids, Duluth, and Barnum, MN. She worked at several places as a book keeper and then, after returning to college to finish her degree, she worked at Norwest Bank which became Wells Fargo, as an insured risk management specialist. Ill health forced early retirement and she was active with her many flowers and her long time love with cats. Debbie passed away on June 01, 2012, at the Augustana Mercy Nursing Home in Moose Lake, MN, at the age of 59 years, and 14 days. She is survived by her husband Daniel and her daughters Jennifer Hilleren and Sarah Hilleren (Brad Oreschel); her mother Ethel and step father Marty Haider, of Alexandria; her aunts, Dorothy Hansen, Olive Barth, Ellen Munsterman, and Loretta Thielke, all of Appleton. She is preceded in death by her Father Willard, and her grandparents, Thea and Alfred Lehne, and Walter and Agnes Thielke.
