Ione Skare

Ione Selma Skare was born October 11, 1917, in Swift Falls, Minnesota to Elmor and Alice Ida (Johnson) Wallin. She was called from this life on Thursday morning, May 17th, at Renville Valley Hospital in Olivia. She had attained the age of 94 years, 7 months and 6 days. She grew up in Swift Falls, Minnesota, where she attended and graduated from the Swift Falls Grade School. She was baptized and confirmed by Rev. Beito at St. Pauli Lutheran Church. On October 24th, 1937, Ione was united in marriage to Rudolph "Rudy" Bernard Skare at St. Pauli Lutheran Church in Swift Falls. To this union three sons and two daughters were born. Together Ione and Rudy were able to share in more than thirty years of marriage. Ione was a member of the Swift Falls Lutheran Church and was active in Circle. Among the things Ione enjoyed were crafts, gardening, watching Twins baseball and golf. Ione is survived by her children: Ralph (Darlene) Skare of Britton, SD, Jackie (Charles) Tostenson of Crystal, MN, Bobi (Bob) Loher of Crystal, MN, Rick (Candi) Skare of Benson, MN, and Randy (Kim) Skare of Willmar, MN; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Ione was preceded in death by her parents: Elmor and Alice Wallin; her husband: Rudolph "Rudy" Skare in 1968; two sisters: Eldred Svor and Deloris Ellingson; and grandson Joshua Skare.
