Loren Richard Holmgren was born July 8th, 1938, the son of Leon and Kathryn Manley Holmgren-Tait. He grew up in Willmar and attended Willmar Schools. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Willmar. Loren was united in marriage to Carole Lee May 7th, 1960, at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson, Minnesota; together they shared in fifty one years of marriage. This union was blessed with three daughters. They settled in Benson. Loren worked for Munson Seed Company and later operated Loren's Mobile Feed Service. He later drove truck for TCI and worked construction for Murphy's Construction in the summers and later for Lorenz Manufacturing. He owned and operated Homer's Snack Shack, featuring such fare as popcorn, sno cones, and mini donuts.Loren was a member of Benson VFW Post #1403, the Cooties, and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed camping, having coffee with his friends and family, and had a passion for Volkswagen automobiles and Winnebagos. He and Carole wintered in Texas and Arizona for several years. Loren was called from this life Friday April 20, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital. He attained the age of 73 years, 9 months and 12 days.He is survived by his wife Carole of Benson; three daughters, Suzanne (Michael) Hess, Deborah (Gene) Wrobleski, and Sharyl Wrobleski (Dave Vollan) all of Benson; ten grandchildren, Bobby (Melissa) Wrobleski, Ben (Crescent) Hess, Scott Wrobleski, Nick (Dani) Wrobleski, Sara (Jeremy) Aust, Matthew Wrobleski, Eric Hess, Ashley Wrobleski, Brett Wrobleski, and Kylee Wrobleski; ten great grandchildren, Dakota Wrobleski, Autumm Hess, Jayden Wrobleski, Adysen Hess, Brielle Hess, Kale Wrobleski, Jeremiah Hess, Ashton Wrobleski, Brennan Wrobleski, and Lily Wrobleski; and two brothers Dale Holmgren of Arkansas and Doug (Paulette) Holmgren of Willmar. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Kathryn and a sister Karen Taber.
