Mary Foley Dolan was born October 17, 1921 on the family farm south of Murdock, to Rose (Gilronan) and John Foley, the sixth of seven children. She grew up on the family farm, attending country school at Chippewa County Louriston Township District 38, one year of high school in Maynard, and graduated from Murdock High School in 1940. On November 30, 1946, she married Frank Dolan. They farmed in the Danvers area for 40 years prior to Frank's death in 1989. Following Frank's death, Mary remained on the family farm for 7 years, then moved to the new Scofield Place apartments in Benson in 1996. Since October of 2010, she resided at the Glen Oaks Care Center in New London.Mary was active in her parish as a member and officer of Altar & Rosary Society, she served on the Visitation Parish church council. She served as Eucharistic Minister and choir member for many years, she was active in the Befriender Ministry, and the Ministry of Praise Prayer Chain. Mary also served along with her husband as a 4-H leader.Mary worked for 13 years in the dietary department at the Meadow Lane Healthcare center.Mary enjoyed cooking, dancing, card playing, gardening, crocheting, knitting, reading, and entertaining family and friends. Mary also enjoyed playing the piano and her gift of music follows her family today. She was a member of Glen Oaks chapter of the Red Hat Society.With her caring heart, welcoming smile, and unwavering faith, Mary touched all those around her. She attained the age of 90 years, 5 months and 30 days. Mary is survived by her children: two sons, Daniel (Barbara) of Rapid City, SD, Timothy (Debra) of Winthrop, MN; five daughters, Margaret (Greg) Harp of New London, MN, Patricia (Timothy) Lawler of Rochester, MN, Frances (Dana) Miller of New London, MN, Mary Beth (Kurt) Angstman of Rochester, MN, Rose (Dallas) Hallberg of West Lafayette, IN; sixteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law Art (Mary Ann) Dolan of River Falls, WI; brother-in-law Leo Hughes of Chatfield, MN; and sister-in-law Barb Dolan of Dover, MN.Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Rose Foley; her beloved husband, Frank; and all of her brothers and sisters.
