Clarence "Kelly" Magnart Wick was born March 13, 1938 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Magnart and Jeanette (Olson) Wick. He was baptized July 2, 1938 in Minneapolis, and confirmed June 14, 1953 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Benson, MN. He graduated from Benson high school. Kelly worked for the Swift County Highway Department, the State of MN Highway Department, construction projects at the University of Minnesota in Morris and Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, and many years as a local carpenter. He won awards for his custom made duck calls, and in addition to those he made everything from rifles, violins, vases, bowls, relief carvings, furniture, and lamps to fishing lures and fish houses. If he didn't know how to make something, he'd read a book or two on the subject and a month later he had mastered it. Kelly is survived by his nephew, Charlie (Heather) Carver of Spicer; his nieces, Rachel Wolf of Willmar, and Rebecca (Robert) Pinske of Spicer; two great-nieces; four great-nephews; brother-in-law, Charles Carver; his lifelong friend Randy Benson; other family and friends.
