Adlore LeVerne Forbord was born on January 7, 1919 at the family homestead in Langhei Township, the son of Albert and Milla (Monson) Forbord. He was baptized and confirmed at East Zion Lutheran Church in rural Starbuck. Adlore attended District 65 Country School for seven years, completing his eighth grade education before joining his parents in the operation of their farm.In February 1942 Adlore was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was promoted to Technical Sergeant and served as a radio intelligence plotter and physical training instructor in Trinidad. He was honorably discharged October 29, 1945.On June 14, 1948, Adlore was united in marriage to Olive Grace Lingen. Their marriage was blessed with five children. Adlore was a loyal companion and husband to Olive for 62 years as they farmed in Langhei Township, rural Benson. They enjoyed traveling together to Norway, China, and the former USSR .Some of his leadership roles included: school board for District 1703, 4-H leader, Langhei Township Clerk, chairman of the board of directors for the Benson Creamery, director of the Northern Division of Mid-America Dairymen, on the board of MN Association of Cooperatives, MN American Dairy Association, and the local board of Dairy Herd Improvement Association. Adlore was committed to East Zion Lutheran Church where he was a Sunday School teacher, member of the church council and the choir, delegate to church conventions, and Luther League advisor. He was called from this life on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at his farm home in rural Benson. He attained the age of 92 years, 8 months, and 7 days.He will be lovingly remembered by his five children: Oronah (Steve) Hanson of Virginia Beach, VA, Allan (Betty Torres) Forbord of Lakeville, Luverne (Mary Jo) Forbord of Starbuck, Grace (Erik Steen) Forbord of Brainerd, and Philip (Chrysees) Forbord of Benson; his 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Myron and Dennis Forbord; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olive (2010), beloved grandson Joraan Forbord (2010), one brother, Roland, and his parents.
