Lorraine Elgene Rohloff was born May 10, 1927, in Fairfield Township, Swift County to Herbert and Lena (Miller) Hoffman. She was baptized June 16, 1927, by Rev. Sprengler of Hancock. She renewed her baptismal vows May 12, 1940 by the Rite of Confirmation at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hancock with Rev. H. C. Duehlmeier. Lorraine attended rural school District #51 for eight years and graduated from Holloway High School in 1945.Lorraine and Arthur farmed in Moyer and Shible Townships before moving to Appleton in October, 1955. She was then employed as a bookkeeper and cashier in National Foods for 18 years and at Super Valu for 16 years. She retired September 1, 1989, after 34 years. Lorraine then was a foster grandparent at the Appleton Elementary School for several years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Appleton, and the VFW Auxiliary Post #4955.Lorraine died on Sunday morning, August 21, at West Wind Village in Morris. She had attained 84 years, 3 months, and 11 days of age.October 10, 1945 she married Arthur A. Rohloff at her parent's home in Fairfield Township. Pastor H. C. Duehlmeier was the presiding minister. To their marriage a son, Eugene, was born.She is survived by daughter-in-law, Pamela Rohloff, of Missouri; granddaughter, Yvette (Tom) of Tennessee; three great-grandchildren: Tabbatha, James, and Elizabeth; one great-great-grandson; sister, Arlene (Lloyd) Melchert, of Morris; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur, on April 16, 1980; her son, Eugene, on April 18, 1986; and her brother, Leonard Hoffman.
