Virginia Ledell Thymian

Virginia Ledell Thymian was born on July 13, 1920, in Kingsley, Iowa to parents Marcus and Metta (Gist) Kehrberg. After a brief stay in Kentucky, the family moved to the Correll area and then to Clinton where she graduated from high school in 1940. On June 11, 1940, she was married to Roy Thymian at Clinton.In the early years of her marriage to Roy, Virginia was a valuable help to Roy on their farm near Correll. At the same time she worked in the post office for many years. Later, she and Roy owned and operated the Correll Café, where she made outstanding meals, pastries, bread and desserts. A lot of the food served was raised in her own garden.Throughout her life Virginia enjoyed gardening, yard work, bowling, fishing, hunting, sewing, quilting, reading, cross word puzzles, crypto quips, jigsaw puzzles, card playing, computer games, astronomy, pets and animals of any kind. She was an avid Twins baseball and Timberwolves basketball fan.Virginia enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors. She especially loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very friendly and outgoing person.Virginia died on Thursday, July 28th, at Park River Estates Care Center in Coon Rapids. She attained 91 years, and 15 days of age.She is survived by her son, David (Susan) Thymian, of Mounds View; grandson, Marcus (Michelle) Thymian of Chicago, IL; granddaughter, Jennifer (Bob) Bennett, of Blaine, MN; great-grandchildren: Tyler and Henry Thymian, and Natalie and Janessa Bennett; sister, Ivy Kennedy, of Clearwater, FL; two sisters-in-law: Dolores Kehrberg, of Appleton and Marjorie Morrison of Ortonville; and other relatives and friends.Preceding Virginia in death are her parents; her husband, Roy, on October 31, 2002; her daughter, Karen Dosdal; her sister, Alma Martinson; and her brother, MJ Kehrberg.
