Loren Golden Lindahl was born on December 6, 1923 in Edison Township, Swift County, Minnesota, to parents Oscar and Olga (Golden) Lindahl. He attended Appleton Public School and graduated in 1941. On March 19, 1955, he was united in marriage to Avis Moen in Moorhead, MN. They resided on a farm near Appleton, and retired from farming in 1990. Loren was a licensed steam engineer and enjoyed running steam locomotives and steam tractor engines as a hobby. Loren was called from this life on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Eventide Nursing Home in Moorhead. He attained the age of 87 years, 7 months, and 27 days. Loren is survived by three children: Arlette Lindahl of Moorhead, Arlo (Karla) Lindahl of Ortonville and Annette (Doug) Bruer of Fargo, ND; six grandchildren: Jacob, Samantha and Shane Lindahl, and Taylor, Michelle and Emily Bruer; one sister, Ora Lindahl of Moorhead; one brother Jurn (Lyn) Lindahl of Morris; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceding him in death were his wife and his parents.
