Victor Lee Hentges was born November 11, 1944, in Blackduck, MN to Joseph and Dorothy (Lister) Hentges. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Blackduck and graduated from Blackduck High School in 1962 where he excelled in several sports. Vic was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers-Local 49, and worked construction his entire life. He was employed by Hicks Concrete from 1978 - 2001. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved ice fishing and deer hunting with his son, Scott, in the fall. Vic was a dedicated husband, father, and a loving and proud papa. He was always there to help others and loved fixing and tinkering with things in his garage. He looked forward to happy hour on the deck with his "buds", Rocky and Coop. His sense of humor will be greatly missed.Victor died on Friday evening, July 22, at the St. Cloud Hospital. He had attained 66 years, 8 months, and 11 days of age.He is survived by his wife, Glenda, of 39 years of Appleton; three children: Joelle (Chris) Brown of Stillwater, Scott (Kellie) Hentges of Morris, and Melissa (Chris) Hebrink of Wyoming, MN; five grandchildren: Hannah and Isaac Brown, Greta and Owen Hentges, and Evan Hebrink; eight siblings: David (Mary) Hentges, Jim (Val) Hentges, Richard (Kaye) Hentges, Jeannie Hentges, Linda (Loren) Sutton, Jean Hentges, Steve Hentges, and Kevin Hentges; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends.He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob; and four sisters: Diane, Janet, Debbie, and Cora.
