Glorraine Lavone Erickson was born November 12, 1940, in Lyons Township, Lyon County to parents Benjamin and Lydia (Bendix) Beadell. She was baptized December 29, 1940, at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Balaton, and was confirmed May 16, 1954, at Peace Lutheran Church at Echo. She graduated from Echo Public School.After graduating she was employed at Redwood Falls High School as a secretary. June 24, 1961, she was married to Glenn Jerome Erickson at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo. After marriage they lived in Montevideo before moving to the Erickson family farm in the fall of 1964. She worked as a secretary at Union Oil Company in Montevideo and then became a full time farmers' wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed being a farm wife and multi-tasking between children, grandchildren, bookwork, and making meals for all. Her grandchildren were her ultimate joy, caring for them and attending all of their activities was her main focus. She also loved gardening, puzzles, cross word puzzles, making apple pies, and cross-stitching. She was a member of the WELCA at West Bank and Big Bend churches. She also served as Sunday School teacher and 4-H club leader. Glorraine was the glue that held the family together. She was a great listener, very supportive and protective, and caregiver to all she loved.Glorraine died on Tuesday morning, July 5th, at Appleton Area Health Services. She had attained 70 years, 7 months, and 23 days of age.She is survived by her husband, Glenn, of Danvers; three children: Kim (Kevin) Voorhees of Benson, Jeff (Kriste) Erickson of Big Bend, and Greg (Michelle) Erickson of Appleton; eight grandchildren: Chelsea Voorhees, Kaylee Voorhees, Cole Voorhees, Micaela Erickson, Dylan Erickson, Kyle Wengler, Erika Wengler, and Karli Erickson; siblings: Delphine Kautz of Sioux Falls, SD, Alton (Gladys) Beadell of Vesta, Dorothy Beadell of Sioux Falls, SD, Kenneth (Von) Beadell of Chualar, CA, Virginia (Dean) Faltinson of Tracy, Annette (Lowell) Anderson of Springfield, Shirley (Loren) Zimmer of Holiday Island, AR, Donald (Joyce) Beadell of Delhi, and Ronald (Kathy) Beadell of Loveland, CO; two brothers-in-law: Maurice (Audrey) Erickson and Algean (Florence) Erickson; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debra Jean Erickson; sister and brother-in-law Evelyn and Larry Bleninger; sister-in-law, Gail Erickson; and brother-in-law, Dwayne Kautz.
