Richard LeRoy Lundebrek was born March 22, 1932 in Langhei Township, Pope County, Minnesota, the son of Olaf E. and Gydia M. (Gulbrandson) Lundebrek. He was Baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at the East Zion Lutheran church in rural Starbuck. He grew up and attended country school in Langhei Township District 51. On July 30, 1966, Richard was united in marriage to Janet Kay Olson at the Rolling Forks Lutheran Church. The couple was blessed with three sons and 44 years of marriage. Richard had worked for several years as a bricklayer in the Minneapolis area. In 1966, Richard and Janet moved back to Pope County. Richard farmed, laid brick, operated an excavating business, and was a seed dealer for many years. Richard was active in the East Zion Lutheran Church, where he served as a Deacon and a Trustee. He was involved with the Langhei Township Board, serving as Chairman. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors and was a founder of the "Putts and Purrs" tractor club. Among the things Richard enjoyed were mechanics, antique machinery, restoring tractors, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Richard is survived by his wife: Janet Lundebrek of Benson; two sons: Ronald (Lynn) Lundebrek of Benson and Ryan (Amy) Lundebrek of Champlin, MN; daughter-in-law: Karen Dorn; two grandchildren: Samual and Abigail Lundebrek of Benson; two brothers: Odell (Edna) Lundebrek of Mesa, AZ and Maynard Lundebrek of Starbuck, MN; and other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death was his son: Dr. Richard O. Lundebrek; his parents: Olaf and Gydia Lundebrek; two brothers: George and Arnold Lundebrek; and his uncle: Carl Gulbrandson.
