Mary E. Lundebrek

Mary Ellen Lundebrek was born February 25, 1932 in Langhei Township, Pope County, Minnesota, the daughter of Ben and Mildred (Todd) Wildeboer. She was baptized by Rev. Tibbets and confirmed on April 16, 1944 by Rev. Dickson, both at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ in Benson. She attended country school at Districts #38 and #99 and completed the ninth grade at Starbuck High School. On July 8, 1948, Mary was united in marriage to George Oliver Lundebrek by Dr. George Dickson. The couple was blessed with five children and 52 years of marriage. They farmed in Langhei Township and Mary was a full time farm wife. She also worked at Fingerhut, Coast to Coast, and Meadowlane Healthcare Center in Benson. In 1991, they moved into Benson. Mary was a member of the Mother's Club, Farmers Union, TOPS and the Birthday Club in Langhei Township. She was a member of Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ and served as a Sunday School teacher and the Ladies Fellowship. Among the things she enjoyed were dancing, reading, embroidery, gardening and having coffee with friends. Mary was called from this life on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Olivia. She attained the age of 79 years, 1 month and 11 days. Mary is survived by her children. Marlene (Steve) Tulibaski of Pennock, Allan (Rhonda) Lundebrek of Glenwood, Annette (Warren) Albrecht of Montevideo, Cindy (Duane) Mertens of Danube, and Wayne Lundebrek of Starbuck; twenty-one grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband George in 2000; her parents; her sister, Norma Wildeboer; and two grandchildren: Heather and William Lundebrek.
