Dale Donald Ehrenberg was born on March 7, 1938, in Ortonville, to Paul D. and Helen H. (Wente) Ehrenberg. He was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in Correll and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. He graduated from Appleton High School and attended Moorhead State College for one year. On June 28, 1958, he was married to Vernette D. Jorgenson at Big Bend Lutheran Church. As a career he drove truck for an elevator in Montevideo and then drove bus for the MTC Metro in St. Paul for 14 years. In 1978 they moved to the farm at rural Milan. For the past 30 years he has driven school bus for Milan Public Schools and Lac qui Parle Valley School District. During his life he was president of the Foster Care Program for Ramsey County, was on the state legislative committee for foster care, was scout master, and coached basketball and girl's softball for "Dale's Players" in St. Paul. He also was president of the Milan Lions Club and president of the Big Bend Church Council. Dale served on the Federated Telephone Board for 26 years and as its president for five years before retiring. He enjoyed camping, fishing, wrestling, and watching his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, going to musicals, plays, and basketball and volleyball games with the grandchildren. Dale died on Wednesday, January 21st, at North Memorial Hospital in Minneapolis from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. He had attained 70 years, 10 months, and 14 days of age. He is survived by his wife, Vernette, of rural Milan; four children: Dale (Beth) Ehrenberg of Atwater, Jill (Tracy) Wagner of Milan, Tami (Terry) Swanson of New London, and Dean (Val) Ehrenberg of Lakefield; 14 grandchildren: Jessica Piclear, Elizabeth Ehrenberg, Samantha and Caitlin Ehrenberg, Dustin Ennen, Michael and Coleen Wagner, Joseph, Aimee, and Lewis Swanson, Kevin and Dayna Ehrenberg, DuWayne Barron, and Stacie Sarff; four great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; his mother, Helen Ehrenberg, of Appleton; sister, Judy (Bruce) Eggan of Hopkins; two brothers: Dennis (Asimo) Ehrenberg of White Bear Lake, and Paul (Rose) Ehrenberg of Appleton; nieces, nephews, and several other relatives. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Ehrenberg, Sr.
