Eleanor Kristine Ingvaldson was born October 7, 1918 in Hoff Township, Pope County, Minnesota, the daughter of Gunder Hansen and Clara Johanna (Dahl) Negaard. She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at West Zion Lutheran Church. She grew up in Hoff Township and attended country school through the eighth grade. Eleanor was united in marriage to Emil Ingvaldson in 1941. This union was blessed with five children and 28 years of marriage. The family lived on a farm in Langhei Township, Pope County until 1947. Eleanor spent her time taking care of the home and raising their children. She worked at Northside Grocery for several years. Eleanor was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid and quilting circle there. She also was a Brownie leader. Among the things she enjoyed were gardening, quilting, and sewing. Eleanor was called from this life on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Bethany Home in Alexandria. She attained the age of 91 years, 8 months and 20 days. Eleanor is survived by her children: Dennis (Juanita) Ingvaldson of Grand Rapids, Delores (Richard) Falk of Ludington, MI, Doris (Armand) Levy of Georgetown, CA, Gary (Paula) Ingvaldson of Fresno, CA and Gregory Ingvaldson of Marquette, MI; five grandchildren: Jennifer (Brian) Rice, Barrett (Sara) Ingvaldson, Richard (Kate) Falk, Jr., Stephanie Ingvaldson, and Mark Ingvaldson; four great-grandchildren; sisters: Cora Oss of St. Paul, and Jeanette Magee of Claremont, CA; and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband Emil; an infant son at birth; her parents Gunder and Clara; sister Helen Knutson; an infant sister; brothers-in-law: John Oss, Arnold Knutson and Dennis Magee.
