Eileen Kay Glimsdal was born on February 13, 1959 in Benson to Paul and Shirley (Currey) Grothe. She grew up on a dairy farm outside of Danvers. She was baptized in March of 1959 and was confirmed in April of 1973 at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson. Eileen graduated from Benson High School in 1977 and went on to school in Brainerd where she studied floral design.Eileen married Stanley Glimsdal, Jr., on June 25, 1983, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Benson. After marriage they resided in rural Appleton where they raised their three children. The Glimsdal family moved to the Murdock area in 2000 where the family became members of the Kerkhoven Lutheran Church and Eileen was an active WELCA member.Eileen was employed at Crown Floral and later went on to work at ACMC in Willmar. She was an avid gardener and spent her spare time crocheting and arranging flowers. She enjoyed cheering on her sons in all sporting events and supporting her children in 4-H and the Swift County fair. Eileen had many gardens that she tended to at home and within the community.Eileen died on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar. She had attained 53 years, 6 months, and 18 days of age.She is survived by her husband, Stan Glimsdal, Jr., of Murdock; three children: Aubrey (Erik) Olson of Crystal, Andy (Alicia) Glimsdal of Willmar, and John Glimsdal (special friend Kaitlin) of Murdock; granddaughter, April Olson; her parents, Paul and Shirley Grothe of Benson; parents-in-law, Stanley and Joanne Glimsdal, Sr., of Benson; four sisters: Becky (Norman) Hoffman of Holloway, Faye (Greg) Gunderson of Benson, Tammy (Jeff) Weber of Watertown, SD, and Nita (Nels) Unke of Benson; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.Eileen is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
