Kevin Gene Olson

June 14, 1955 — July 3, 2010

Kevin Gene Olson was born June 14, 1955, at Appleton to LeRoy and Doris (Frederick) Olson. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church and graduated from Appleton High School in 1974.Kevin was married to Vicki Jean Beyer on October 23, 1976. To this union one daughter, Sabrina Jean Olson, was born. Kevin and Vicki later divorced but remained good friends.Kevin served his country in the US Army from 1977 to 1991. While served he was stationed in California, Kansas, Texas, Germany, Hawaii, and Korea. After his military service Kevin enjoyed working at hotels and motels in Cold Spring and the Twin Cities until being diagnosed with cancer eight months ago.Kevin died on Saturday afternoon, July 3, at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis. He had attained 55 years and 19 days of age. He is survived by his daughter, Sabrina (special friend Eric Moen, of Aberdeen, SD; his parents, LeRoy and Doris Olson of Willmar; two brothers: Larry Olson of Watertown, SD and Timothy (Cindy) Olson of Willmar; sister, Lori (Kelly) Somerville, of Raymond; nieces, nephews, and many other special friends and family members. He is also survived by his best four legged friend, his dog "Rudy".Kevin is preceded in death by his brother, Dean; and his grandparents.
