Thelma Caroline Kulseth was born on September 7, 1920, in Appleton to Christ and Aurora (Thorson) Gulseth. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed on April 6, 1935. Thelma attended school at Appleton through the eighth grade.On March 11, 1946, she was married to Theodore Kulseth at the Congregational Parsonage. During her life Thelma worked at Jennison's Flour Mill, cleaned homes in Appleton, and worked as a housekeeper at the Appleton Municipal Hospital for many years. Her main work was staying at home raising her five children.Thelma was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was active in the church circles. For many years she was a volunteer at the Nutrition Center. She enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, reading, playing cards, raising flowers, Bingo, and making coffee for friends and relatives. Thelma was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a very kind hearted person and served as a caregiver for many over the years.Thelma died on Monday morning, August 24th, at Appleton Area Health Services. She had attained 88 years, 11 months, and 17 days of age.She is survived by five children: David (Donna) Kulseth of Red Wing, Marlowe (Barb) Kulseth of Tucson, AZ, Carol (Roger) Jenson of Maple Grove, Judy Kulseth of Appleton, and Robert (Nancy) Kulseth of Spicer; nine grandchildren: Mike (Abby) Kulseth, Denise (Donnie) Watson, Scott (Karlana) Kulseth, Jennifer Kulseth (friend Robert Krebs), Kristen (Cesar) RuizJimenez, Todd Jenson, Matt Jenson, Becky (Jesse) Knudsen, and Sarah Kulseth; 14 great-grandchildren: Johnathan Kulseth, Matt Watson, Leilani Jester, Michael Kulseth, Christian and Jordan Wong, Kylie and Talen Krebs, Anne, Summer, MacKenzie and Aiden RuizJimenez, and Ethan and Emma Knudsen; sister, Virginia Anderson, of Maplewood; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Theodore, on February 21, 1986; and two brothers: Kenneth and Clealand Gulseth.
